Thunderbird email issues


For those of you using Thunderbird please check your settings by going to:

  1. Go to Tools
  2. Options
  3. Security
  4. Passwords tab
  5. Saved passwords
  6. Show passwords
  7. Find email address that you are using and
  8. Double click password
  9. Click CTRL+A (select all) then CTRL+C (copy)
  10. Then remove highlighted email address

Next on Thunderbird:

  1. Tools
  2. Account settings
  3. On the email list on the left, scroll to the bottom and select Outgoing server
  4. You will see your email list, select appropriate email address and click edit
  5. Check that Connection security is set to STARTTLS and not SSL/TLS
  6. Click ok
  7. Send a test email to yourself
  8. CTRL+V (paste) password in to box and accept security exception
  9. Done
